John Rutter turned 75 this year. To celebrate, we will be performing his Mass of the Children, which we'll sing with chamber ensemble and the Pro Musica Youth Choir from Oak Park.
Our first concert of the season featured the music of Christopher Tin, Daniel Elder, and John Rutter.
This year is the 100th anniversary of Berlin’s birth and we will feature a medley of 18 (yes, 18!) of his songs.
For the Classical concert, we offered two works by two different composers, the well-known Antonin Dvořák and the modern day Estonian composer Arvo Pärt.
In this popular composition, Vivaldi provides a musical setting for the ancient “Gloria in excelsis Deo” hymn from the Latin Mass.
All of the songs included in our third concert series this season have water as a common theme.
