This festival of folk music was performed at LaGrange Park’s Nazareth Academy auditorium. This music provided fun and good musical memories spanning a century of Americana – Stephan Foster to Woodie Guthrie.
The program honored the role of mothers. Diverse pieces were sung, from lullabies to music from Hollywood.
Not only is Felix Mendelssohn’s esteemed St. Paul oratorio a coming-of-age work, it is also a masterpiece that secured Mendelssohn’s place in the front line of German composers.
