Concordia Chapel of Our Lord - Concordia University, 7400 Augusta Street, River Forest, IL - Like Rutter's Magnificat, this music cycle features ancient text set to music by a 20th century composer, Carl Orff. The original 11th and 12th century collection of Carmina Burana poems is subtitled “Secular Songs for Singers and Choruses to be Sung Together with Instruments and Magic Images”. While we may be lacking some of the “magic images”, we will not be lacking the virtuoso musicianship that is a hallmark of Tower Chorale performances. This is a treat not to be missed.
